Invitation for Proposals to Lease State-Owned Bungalows
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of Sri Lanka is inviting sealed proposals through a National Competitive Selection Process from eligible investors to reuse, refurbish, develop, operate, and maintain selected State-owned bungalows on a 30-year lease basis.
Scope of Investment & Ownership
| Permitted Activities | : Retail (tourism-related), boutique suites, cafes, and restaurants. |
| Development Definition | : Minor repairs and temporary structures, subject to prior authority approval. |
| Ownership | : Land and building ownership remain with the Government of Sri Lanka. |
| Responsibility | : Investors are solely responsible for acquiring all statutory permits, approvals, and licenses. |

Birth, Marriage, and Death Certificate Copies Issued Online
To reduce the difficulties in requesting the copies of Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates in the existing COVID Pandemic situation an online request system has been introduced by the Department for the usage of public. The Registrar General’s Department stated that the application for relevant certificates can be made using personal mobile phones and payments can be made using Visa and MasterCard. People can receive the relevant certificates via speed post or closest Divisional Secretariat.
